This is the fifth edition of the annual Report on labour costs, salaries and some issues related in European commercial banks. It contains data from publicly-available sources (OECD) and detailed comparisons for representative jobs at the clerical, supervisory and managerial levels based on our own research. Also this year the Report includes a summary and update of the restructuring trends of major banks across Europe, obtained through interviews and case studies. Moreover special attention is devoted to staff reduction policies adopted in various countries to solve redundancies directly linked to mergers and acquisitions more and more frequent in banking sector.
