BASEL II Putting facts to the test MANAGING RISK, ALLOCATING CAPITAL AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH ENTERPRISES Rome, Ergife Palace Hotel As we are only a few months away from the long-anticipated entry into force of Basel II, ABI is organizing the new edition of a great event that is now a date that cannot be missed, from a content viewpoint as well as for the networking opportunities it offers for all professionals working in this area. A number of questions still need answers, the organizational and methodology uncertainties, necessary restructuring processes, criticisms related to the upcoming deadlines of the Bank of Italy, the anticipation of the amendments to the supervisory regulations. ABI, together with other key stakeholders, would like to continue to be of concrete help to respond to these questions in order to address them effectively. The focus this year will be on Pillar 2, also because of the October deadline to implement ICAAP. However we will not overlook other open issues on the other Pillars with specific reference to credit and operational risks. Furthermore, discussions on Basel II’s impact on the bank-enterprise relationship will also take place.
